Overview
The group version of ACSI’s Christian Philosophy of Education (CPoE) series is designed for schools that want to develop a shared, biblically grounded approach to teaching and learning. This updated version (2026) has been streamlined to 18 total hours (down from 28) while still fully meeting ACSI’s CPoE requirements. It also reflects several improvements based on educator feedback, making the experience more focused and user-friendly.
Who Should Choose the Group Version?
The group format is recommended when:
- You have 3 or more participants
- You can identify a school-based facilitator (someone who has already developed their own philosophy of education)
This format is especially effective for:
- Building shared language and alignment around your school’s mission
- Integrating your school’s biblical worldview and instructional practices into the learning process
- Encouraging collaboration through small group discussions, which work well for grade-level or department teams
If you have fewer than three participants or need a fully flexible option, the individual (self-paced) version may be a better fit.
Course Structure and Pacing
The CPoE series includes three required courses:
- Worldview
- Foundations
- Biblical Integration
Each course is structured into:
- 6 sessions, approximately 1 hour each
Schools have flexibility in how they schedule the training:
- Complete a full course in a single day
- Spread sessions over several weeks
- Adapt pacing to fit your school calendar
Each course includes a Facilitator Guide with suggested schedules and planning support. Once registered, facilitators will have access to guides for all three courses.
Meeting ACSI’s CPoE Requirement
To fulfill the CPoE requirement, participants must:
- Complete all three courses
- Log into the course platform to:
- Take a pre-assessment
- Take a post-assessment
- Submit a final project (referred to as an artifact)
For those applying to meet the official requirement:
- The final artifact must be reviewed and approved by a school administrator
- Detailed instructions for this process are provided within Course 3: Biblical Integration
Participants who are not seeking to meet the requirement may still complete the courses to earn continuing education units (CEUs).
Key Benefits of the Group Format
- Encourages collaboration and discussion among staff
- Aligns professional development with your school’s mission and vision
- Provides structured yet flexible implementation
- Supports meaningful application through shared reflection and artifacts
